In November, we reported Sony was launching ‘RemotePlay’ for the PC, a move that would allow PS4 owners to play their favorite games on from a laptop or desktop computer.

Tomorrow is the day.

A new era of tech events has begun

We’re back in New York this November for the 4th edition of our growth-focused technology event.

Once released, the 3.50 system update — featuring RemotePlay — turns your PC into a highly-portable (for laptop users) second screen that allows you to play your PS4 titles anywhere you can take your laptop.

Of course, that’s assuming your PC meets Sony’s requirements, which isn’t all that difficult:

Remote Play on PC / Mac is compatible with the following system software:

  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 10 or later
  • OS X 10.10
  • OS X 10.11

You’ll be able to select from the following resolution and frame rate options, depending on your Internet bandwidth.

  • Resolution options: 360p, 540p, 720p (Default: 540p)
  • Frame rate : Standard (30fps), High (60fps) (Default: Standard)

You can use one DualShock 4 as the controller for Remote Play, which needs to be connected to your PC / Mac via a USB cable.

After the system software update launches, you’ll be able to download the Remote Play Installer here.

Once the update rolls out tomorrow, you slackers out there will have an easy way to sneak in a game or two of Rocket League at work; not that we’d recommend that sort of thing.
