Facebook is making a few changes to its live video initiatives, including letting users stream from the MSQRD app.

When you broadcast from MSQRD, you’ll be able to try out different masks and effects live — and even swap them on the fly. You can also select the audience you want to broadcast to (friends or public).

A new era of tech events has begun

We’re back in New York this November for the 4th edition of our growth-focused technology event.

Later this Summer, Facebook will be rolling out the ability to let you go live with another person remotely. The idea is that broadcasters can invite guests or viewers onto a broadcast, which is likely why it’ll roll out to verified pages first.

In addition to guests, you’ll be able to schedule live broadcast notifications for fans of your page. If you were going live on Friday at 3 00pm, you can choose to notify people that a broadcast was starting — or about to start.

If viewers tune in early, they’ll be placed in a ‘lobby,’ which is basically just them waiting for a broadcast to start. Again, scheduling is rolling out to verified pages first.

All very cool additions to Facebook’s Live program, and the ability to pull viewers into your stream might help encourage more polished live video feeds.
